Summer School 2015: Connecting basic and applied research - Developing theoretical and methodical concepts and approaches for applied projects

On August 16th the D&T research group started an intense five days retreat on Kalangala, Ssese Islands, Uganda. Being ‘isolated’ on this remote, but very beautiful patch of Uganda, we discussed theoretical concepts that emerged from the (preliminary) research results of our team members and discussed communication and application strategies for a better translation of findings from academia to practice. Furthermore, the group defined milestones and planned future project activities, like the next Stakeholders Dialogue with the D&T Committee (as one of our strategies to apply research findings).
